Heidi Pacella: Community Service & Leadership in Homer Glen & Homer Township

Long before this campaign, Heidi Pacella was quietly showing up for Homer’s neighbors — volunteering across Homer Glen and Homer Township events that honor our veterans, seniors, and families, and stepping up to lead when it mattered.

Homer Township Veteran & Senior Event

An afternoon honoring those who served. In the Township’s own recognition of the day, the volunteers were thanked by name:

“Thank you to… Township volunteers including Mark Gawron, John Walters, Patti Komar, Luanne Gawron, Jimmy Shake, Heidi Pacella, Dominic Pacella, Ed Kerfin and many others… I want to express my gratitude for the service of every veteran and thank all the seniors who came.”— Homer Township Supervisor, recognizing the volunteers

Senior Lifestyle Expo

At Young School, Heidi helped connect seniors with local vendors, health screenings, and community resources at the Township’s free Senior Lifestyle Expo.

Scarecrow Contest — People’s Choice Favorite

In the Village of Homer Glen’s Scarecrow Contest, Heidi’s entry won People’s Choice Favorite — the neighbors voted for it. Then she did something better than keep the prize: she collected donations to build a larger gift basket for a local senior.

Trunk or Treat

Heidi and her two children decorated their own trunk for the neighborhood kids at the Township & Road District Trunk or Treat. For the Pacella family, service is a shared value — the whole family shows up.

Senior Christmas Party

At Crystal Grand Banquets in Lemont, Heidi helped local seniors celebrate the season — and yes, there was an Elvis.

Pop-Up Art Shop — Hosted by Heidi

Heidi doesn’t just show up — she leads. She hosted a Pop-Up Art Shop, presented by Homer Township, teaching kids ages 5–12 to make Valentine’s Day crafts.

Fighting for Homer Glen Itself

Heidi’s greatest gift to this community isn’t one afternoon — it’s years of leading the grassroots fight against the 143rd Street and Parker-Hadley (Chicago-Bloomington Road) widening projects. Organizing neighbor meetings, packing pavilions, giving residents a voice when no one else would.

Heidi shows up. She leads. She gives back.

That’s the same way she’ll serve as Mayor of Homer Glen — present, hands-on, neighbors first.
